CENTENARY METHODIST CHURCH WELCOMES DENISE GARTMAN AS DIRECTOR OF PRESCHOOL PROGRAM
Centenary Methodist Church is proud to announce the appointment of Denise Gartman as Director of its Preschool program, which will serve infants through Pre-K beginning with the 2025–2026 school year on August 19, 2025. This program continues Centenary’s long-standing commitment to early childhood education in the Cape Girardeau community.
With over 20 years of experience in early childhood education, Denise brings a strong foundation in leadership and classroom experience to this role. Her background includes teaching and curriculum development at Eagle Ridge Christian School and Footprints, along with serving as an Early Childhood Specialist with CPSEMO THRIVE Birth to Five. Denise holds a degree in Family and Child Studies with a minor in Child Development from Southeast Missouri State University and is certified in CLASS Assessments and Practice-Based Coaching.
“I’m very aware of the legacy of Centenary Preschool, and I’m committed to bringing back a high-level, faith-based preschool—better than ever,” Denise said. “Rooted in faith and guided by love, our goal is to provide a nurturing, learning environment where every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated from infancy through pre-K.”

Centenary Preschool is always excited to welcome volunteers into our program. Volunteering is a rewarding way to support our school, connect with our staff, and make a difference in the lives of our children. Whether you can give a little time or a lot, we would love to have you join us.

Ways to Volunteer
Morning Welcome Crew (8:30 AM – 10:30 AM): Greet families and students as they arrive. Help create a warm and inviting start to the school day.
Lunch Helpers (10:30 AM – 12:30 PM): Assist with preparing simple lunches and serving our students. The children always look forward to lunchtime and appreciate the friendly faces who serve them.
How to Get Involved
You can volunteer once a week, once a month, or as often as your schedule allows. Every hour makes a difference.
