Bennett Turner is the Media Director for Centenary Methodist Church. The role of the Media Director is to utilize digital and social media to inform the public and members of the congregation of the many exciting services, events, and opportunities for worship and fellowship we have to offer. Whether it be Sunday morning service, Wednesday Night Meals, Trunk or Treat, College Ministries, Preschool, Bible Studies or Sunday School, it is Bennett’s job to promote and capture the amazing work that our volunteers and staff do to make Centenary a welcoming and Godly place. Bennett works closely with Drew Dollar to build a tech team and to oversee the livestreaming of all services and other necessary events so that the Word of God can be delivered not only to our homebound or out-of-town congregation, but to any member of the public who wishes to learn more about Centenary or wish to experience more of the Good Word. Our services stream live and on-demand on Facebook, YouTube, Roku and ChristianWorldMedia. Bennett works closely with our Worship Director Mike Dumey to ensure that the proper multimedia materials are needed to properly and beautifully encapsulate the teachings of Jesus and the Global Methodist Church. Bennett also manages our Facebook, YouTube and Instagram pages, where you can follow the church @CentenaryCape for all updates on our events and ministries. Bennett also keeps the website updated with all the information you could want to know about what Centenary has to offer. Anything you see on a screen, in the newspaper, on a billboard or online, Bennett has a part in it!
Bennett graduated SEMO in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication: TV/Film. Bennett has previously worked for SEMO’s Film Department, Kent Library, and the City of Cape Girardeau making videos and managing social media pages.
While Bennett’s expertise is in media, he has a passion for music and frequently utilizes it to minister the Christian faith through the power of song. He is a bass player for Greater Dimensions Ministries in Cape Girardeau, and before then played bass for The Free Church in Sikeston. When not preoccupied with media duties, he plays bass for Centenary when he can.
Bennett hopes to improve Centenary’s presence online and help Centenary’s passionate and loving community grow. Bennett strives to capture the welcoming spirit flowing through Centenary Methodist Church.
Bennett is incredibly grateful for the amazing people he works with, both volunteer and staff. Our church has volunteers that help write our weekly newsletter, operate cameras, and take pictures. If you would like to be a part of the tech team, please feel free to reach out!
