Hi! I’m Brodrick Twiggs and I have the privilege of serving as one of the worship directors here at Centenary. I get to help provide music that encourages people to get closer to Jesus. I believe Centenary is a family passionate about Christ. I’ve experienced that from the first time I visited and I love the relationships I’ve gained since.
I’m a Cape Girardeau native. I graduated from Cape Central in 2011 and in 2016 I graduated from SEMO with a degree in Communication Studies. My music ministry began when I was ten years old as a drummer. At fourteen, I taught myself piano by ear. Soon after, I was playing every Sunday. For over fifteen years I’ve been in music ministry. I’ve served as a musician, choir director and worship leader. Music has always been a big part of how I experience Christ.
I first visited Centenary back in 2010. I was asked to sing at the traditional service and was invited back many times after that. In January 2019, I joined the Centenary staff by serving as worship leader for our contemporary service. Since July 2023, I’ve served as one of the worship directors for Sunday mornings. I also organize music for the community meals on Wednesday evenings.
I believe that it’s important to have a personal relationship with Jesus. My grandmother instilled that belief in me and so did my mother. I saw the love of Christ in them. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Despite what we’re going through, God never leaves us. I believe He’s always working on our behalf. He’s always working for our good. When I’m not at church, I’m spending time with my fiancé, Bailey; watching YouTube videos; playing piano; or studying to be a nurse!
I believe we have a unique opportunity at Centenary to create a worship community that celebrates the past and embraces the future. Through dynamic worship, meaningful small groups, radical community service and teachings rooted in scripture, we’ll be a church for all generations.
