The Church Administrative Assistant must approve the requested dates for the rehearsal and the wedding as soon as possible. We request a minimum one year notice prior to the wedding to allow adequate time for completion of the pre-marital counseling program. Dates less than a year will be considered by church and staff availability.

The wedding ceremony is a sacred rite of the Church. It is a religious ceremony in which a man and a woman invoke the blessing of God for their wedding. It is hoped the individuals clearly sense the presence of God, for the wedding service is truly a worship celebration. Holy Communion may or may not be celebrated.

Wedding Services are to be performed Centenary’s pastor, or a qualified person approved in writing by our pastor. Visiting Clergy will be given every courtesy and consideration. Centenary’s Event Coordinator must be present for all rehearsals and the wedding.

If Centenary’s pastor is to serve as the officiant, our denomination, the Global Methodist Church, requires premarital counseling. The expectation is minimum of three (3) session of 75-90 minutes. This requirement may be met by an approved third-party counseling service. All premarital counseling must be satisfactorily completed at least two weeks prior to the date of the wedding.

The couple should meet with the church Administrative Assistant and the Event Coordinator after meeting with the Pastor to confirm details of the Event.

All plans must be approved by the Pastor of Centenary Methodist Church. Your first step in planning your wedding at Centenary will to meet with the Pastor and discuss your dreams for this sacred day. The Pastor’s “due counsel with the parties involved” prior to marriage will be agreed upon by “the couple” and “the Pastor.” All leadership roles taken by other clergy must be at the written invitation of the Pastor.

All requests for usage of said facilities are subject to approval by the church through the Event Coordinator.

Our Sanctuary’s primary use is for worship services. There are a number of duties that are performed early on Sunday mornings in order to prepare for service. We have a unique and beautiful Sanctuary which lends itself to either the simplest or more elaborate weddings. For that reason, attention should be given early in the planning stages to the nature and scope of the service. Like any church, we are a volunteer driven organization. While some paid staff play key roles in a wedding service, many volunteers are utilized to set-up before and after, and their time must be considered in the planning process.

ABSOLUTELY NO USE OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS, ALCOHOL OR DRUGS ON THE PREMISES! No alcohol or drug consumption before your arrival at the church. This will be strictly enforced, and persons suspected of abusing this requirement will be asked to leave the facility immediately, including smokeless cigarettes. This will be enforced by Centenary’s Event Coordinator and/or Pastor, who may employ the services of police or emergency medical services as needed.

Centenary Methodist Church reserves the right to cancel any wedding, rehearsal, or reception even with an authorized contract and the wedding scheduled if deemed necessary. Any couple canceling a reservation within 30 days of the date forfeits their deposit.
