Centenary Spotlight: Beverly Hahs
On this week’s Centenary Spotlight, we are highlighting Beverly Hahs, Centenary’s Historian. Bev has been a member since 1979, and has been a member of the Historical Committee for as long as she can remember. Bev has the perfect credentials for this position, with her background in Library Science for Scott City High School, previous historical organization experience at New McKendree, and her volunteer work putting together displays for the Cape River Heritage Museum. The beautiful displays of our Church’s heritage are courtesy of Bev!
In our collection, we have old bibles and hymnals that date back to the late 1800s, century-old bulletins, painted portraits of previous pastors, and records of deceased members. We never want to forget our members who were instrumental in making Centenary what it is today.
Bev constantly gets new items from members, like old pictures and newspaper clippings. She loves being able to preserve our Church’s history for future generations. Thank you to Bev and all the members of the Historical Committee for the important work that you do!
