What does it mean to be a member of Centenary Methodist Church? It means more than having your name on a membership roll. It means being part of a church family, growing in your relationship with Jesus Christ, and putting your faith into action.

At Centenary, we believe that a growing faith is lived out in the way we worship, learn, serve, and care for one another. That’s the heart behind Church + 2: a simple, practical way to think about what it means to be an active part of our church family.

Church + 2 means weekly worship, one hour of discipleship, and one hour of hands-on service each week.

1. CHURCH: WORSHIP TOGETHER

Make worship a regular part of your life.

Worship is where we gather as a church family to praise God, hear His Word, pray together, and encourage one another in faith. We believe that gathering for worship strengthens our relationship with Christ and reminds us that we are not walking this journey alone.

Our goal is to attend worship each week, unless we are sick or out of town. When we gather together, we grow together.

2. GROW: INVEST IN YOUR FAITH

Set aside one hour each week for discipleship.

Following Jesus is a lifelong journey. We are called not only to believe, but also to grow in our understanding of God’s Word and become more like Christ in our daily lives.

Discipleship can take many forms, including a Bible study, Sunday school class, small group, or other opportunities to learn and grow alongside fellow believers.

Whether you are new to faith or have followed Jesus for years, there is always more to discover. Take an hour each week to deepen your faith, ask questions, build relationships, and encourage someone else along the way.

3. SERVE: PUT YOUR FAITH INTO ACTION

Give one hour each week to hands-on service.

Jesus modeled a life of love, compassion, humility, and service. As His followers, we are called to care for others and share His love in practical ways.

Serving might look like helping with a church ministry, supporting a community outreach, preparing a meal, welcoming a guest, caring for children, or meeting a need in our community.

You don’t have to have a special title or know all the answers to make a difference. God can use the gifts, time, and willingness you already have to bless someone else.

When we serve together, we become the hands and feet of Jesus in our church, our community, and beyond.

WHY CHURCH + 2?

We gather for worship. We grow through discipleship. We serve out of love.

These three rhythms help us develop a faith that extends beyond Sunday morning and into our homes, workplaces, relationships, and community. They help us build meaningful connections, discover our gifts, and participate in what God is doing through Centenary.
